We are a locally-owned and operated title insurance company servicing customers in Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, and Montgomery and Waller counties since 1995. Our primary goal is to provide exceptional title insurance service and make your closing experience a memorable one.
In June 2011 we welcomed Brazos County Abstract Company to our group. Brazos County Abstract Company is the oldest title insurance company in Brazos County. It has been in existence since the 1860’s.
In January of 2014, Security Title in Abilene was purchased, along with branch offices in Albany, Ballinger, Breckenridge and Eastland. South Land’s foot print has grown from the Gulf Coast area to Central Texas and now to West Texas.
On July 1, 2015, Texan Title Holdings, LLC, parent company of South Land Title, LLC, acquired Prominent Title, LLC located in Austin, Texas, further expanding our footprint in Central Texas. See the press release here: Prominent Release – July 1 2015
We have our own Title Plant located at the Galveston – Stewart Road location. This means that we have staff located within our own home office that examines our files and processes them in a timely manner. We also have our own Policy Department to get out the completed title policies immediately following closing. None of this work is outsourced.
The beauty of South Land Title, LLC is that as an Independent Agent, we have the ability to use more than one underwriter. Unlike other title companies that are required to use their own underwriter, South Land Title, LLC has several to choose from. If an issue comes up and an underwriter has a problem with it, we are then able to consult with another. Currently, we are licensed to do business with Alamo Title Insurance Company, Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, First American Title Insurance Company, First National Title Insurance Company, Old Republic Title Insurance Company, Title Resources Guaranty Company and WFG National Title Insurance Company. All are national underwriters with very favorable reputations and legal teams.

With this, we want everyone to know that our staff is experienced in every aspect of the title insurance business and when it comes to choosing someone to close your real estate transaction, we want you to think of us. Our escrow officers have an average of 15 years of experience. These professional are supported by highly trained assistants and business development representatives.
